King Abdullah Economic City Saudi Arabia

King Abdullah Economic City is a large-scale project that began to be developed in 2005 in Saudi Arabia. This future city will be located along the Red Sea, some 100 km north of Jeddah. With a total urban area of 168 km², the city will be located between the two holy cities of Mecca and Medina and the commercial core of Jeddah. It is designed to have large buildings and skyscrapers and to be one of the most important cities in Saudi Arabia and the entire Middle East. The cost of the project is approximately 100 billion riyals, or 26.6 billion US dollars. The city is envisioned to serve as an economic hub for Saudi youth. The city's basic access routes will be a port with an annual capacity of 10 million TEU containers, an international airport and a railway connecting major cities in Saudi Arabia.
